We’re thrilled to welcome award-winning author and illustrator Salina Yoon to Discovery Elementary for a special visit with our TK–2nd grade students!
Salina Yoon is the creator of more than 150 picture books for children, including the beloved Penguin and Duck, Duck, Porcupine! series. Her newest book, I Like Cheese, is a laugh-out-loud story about friendship, trying new things, and of course… cheese!

Families can purchase an author-signed copy of I Like Cheese for $11 — a special discounted price just for our students.
All books ordered by the December 2nd deadline will:
- Arrive in time for Salina Yoon to personally sign them during her visit
- Be delivered to your child’s classroom after the event
- Please include your child’s name, teacher, and grade when ordering so we can deliver their signed book correctly.
Any orders received after December 2nd will still receive the discounted price but will not be signed by the author.
About the Book 🧀
I Like Cheese is a charming and funny story about a mouse who insists he only likes cheese—until a curious friend helps him discover there’s a whole world beyond what he knows. It’s a perfect read-aloud for little learners about friendship, open-mindedness, and trying something new!
