Nedda Lewers is a former teacher and the USA Today bestselling Egyptian American author of Daughters of the Lamp, a magical middle-grade adventure that blends Arabian fairy tales, family legacy, and thrilling discovery. Her stories take readers on imaginative journeys while exploring identity, courage, and what it means to find your place in the world.
Percy Jackson meets Arabian fairy tales in this stunning middle grade fantasy debut about a girl who becomes the guardian of Ali Baba’s legendary treasure.
Sahara Rashad believes in logic, science, and plans — until a trip to Egypt leads her to magic, mystery, and a legacy passed down through generations. Can Sahara trust the unknown and claim her role as the treasure’s keeper?
We’re so excited to share this inspiring visit with our older readers at Discovery Elementary and to celebrate imagination, creativity, and storytelling! Thank you for supporting literacy and a love of books in our community.
During her visit, Nedda Lewers will give a presentation to all 3rd–5th grade students, sharing insights into her writing process, storytelling, and what it’s like to be a published author.
Following the presentation, Nedda Lewers will host a 40-minute writers’ workshop for a small group of students.
